Firstling Glow Tallow Cream

God made the cattle, and He gave them to us first as food—and with that gift came the rest of the animal, so nothing of the blessing is wasted. Firstling begins there: grass-fed tallow, the richness set aside after the herd has fed us, whipped into a cream and finished with a garden of skin oils and herbs steeped in oil for six weeks. What was given for the table is also given for the skin. This is that portion, used with care.

Firstling Glow is built around three plants chosen for what they do to the look of skin. Calendula, rosehip, and gotu kola are steeped for six weeks in jojoba oil so their fat-soluble compounds move into the oil itself, then that oil is whipped into grass-fed tallow. The result is a cream that softens, evens, and firms the surface without water, fragrance, or filler.
